News from Ms. Bymak

Sept 03, 2020
Dear Longview School Families!

We are so happy to have our school community back together.  We have had a successful first few days and are very proud of our staff, students and parents for adapting to the changes that are intended to keep us all safe.
As we adjust to our new now, it will be important that we continue to keep the lines of communication open.  I understand that you are receiving information from many sources and sometimes it can feel like information overload, but I would ask that you please remain open to communication from the school.
A few updates, we will open the school to students beginning at 8:10 am each day, and students are asked to enter through their assigned doors.  If students arrive to school after 8:30 am, they are asked to use the main doors.
As well, there have been many changes to our school fees as they were communicated to you in June.  Please do not make any payments to the office at this time, as you will receive an email regarding your totals by mid September.  You will then have access to pay online, by cheque or cash.

Also, I have included a link that you may find helpful as a reference when your child exhibits signs or symptoms of illness.

To simplify: “for fever, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, sore throat – students are legally required to isolate for 10 days from the start of symptoms or until they resolve, whichever is LONGER.  Now there is a way to shorten this time… have a negative test.  If a child is tested and it returns negative they are welcome back into school once they’re feeling better.  So no test = at least 10 days.  Negative test = welcome back when feeling better.”
Our first week together has demonstrated the commitment and resilience of many and I am confident that we are able to provide a safe and caring learning environment for your children.  Please do not hesitate to call as wonders arise.

Sincerely,

Ms Rhonda Bymak
